About – Moissanite is a gemstone that is similar to diamonds but is extremely rare in nature. Most Moissanites are now lab-grown and are an alternative to diamonds. Moissanite was discovered by a French man named Dr. Henri Moissan over 120 years ago. Dr. Moissan, a Nobel Prize-winning chemist, discovered moissanite from examining rock samples from a meteor crater in Arizona. Initially, Dr. Mossan mistook the fragments as diamonds but later realized they were different types of gemstones. The gemstone was named after Dr. Moissan and is known as the gemstone from the stars.
As moissanite mainly occurs in meteor crater sites, it is rare in nature. From it’s original form, it is then combusted in a lab with minimal environmental impact. With modern technology and international standard lab and equipments, it has been made possible to create the highest grade and various cuts for your jewelry design.
Moissanite is one of the hardest minerals in the world and is highly scratch resistant and unaffected by daily wear. Visually, moissanite has a fire and brilliance over any other gemstone. A Moissanite with the highest grade and correctly cut will emanate light in every direction, especially in sunlight.
